Mangaluru, April 10, 2026: A cyber crime awareness session was successfully conducted at DKZP Higher Primary School, Balthila, aiming to educate students on the growing risks and challenges in the digital world.
The session was led by resource person Dr. Usharani B, who provided valuable insights into the increasing prevalence of cyber crimes and the need for awareness, especially among students who are frequent internet users. The program was organized by Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) students—Geetha, Dhanuja, Sajani, and Diya—as part of their community outreach initiative.
Addressing the students, Dr. Usharani B highlighted various types of cyber crimes, including online fraud, hacking, identity theft, and cyberbullying. She emphasized the importance of being cautious while using digital platforms and shared practical tips to stay safe online.
The session focused on educating participants about the safe use of social media, protecting personal information such as passwords and OTPs, and identifying fake links and online scams. Students were also encouraged to adopt responsible digital behavior and think critically before sharing any personal or sensitive information online.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in discussions and clarified their doubts regarding online safety. The initiative successfully created awareness about cyber security and empowered students with the knowledge to navigate the internet safely and responsibly.
