Mangaluru, August 29, 2026: The Skill Club of Government PU College, Gurupura, in collaboration with Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru, was inaugurated today through a banner reveal, marking the beginning of a series of skill-development and awareness activities for students.
Dr. Raghavendra Holla, Chairman, Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru, was the Chief Guest of the programme. Mrs. Kishori B., Principal, Government PU College, Gurupura, delivered the presidential address. Mrs. Poornima Kumari, Skill Club Coordinator, Swastika National Business School, and Mr. Ahmed Hussein, Skill Club Coordinator, Government PU College, Gurupura, along with the Vice Principal of the college, were present on the dais.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raghavendra Holla highlighted the importance of discipline in students’ lives and emphasised that discipline plays a vital role in shaping their character, decisions and future.


Following the inauguration, an informative Drug Awareness Session was conducted by Mr. Anil Kumar, Police Constable, Bajpe Police Station. He sensitised the students about drugs, their harmful effects and the consequences of substance abuse. He also highlighted common mistakes young people may make, the importance of making responsible choices, and various ways to protect themselves from crime and risky situations.

The session was highly informative and relevant, providing students with valuable awareness about the dangers of drugs, the importance of discipline and responsible behaviour, and the need to stay alert and make positive choices for a safe and successful future.
The programme marked the beginning of various skill-development, awareness and student-enrichment activities under the newly inaugurated Skill Club.
