Mangaluru, October 2026: The NSS Day Celebration was organised with enthusiasm, highlighting the values of social service, cleanliness and environmental protection at St. Raymond’s Pre-University College. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about their responsibilities towards society and the environment.
Rev. Sr. Dr. Sadhana B. S., Principal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and encouraged NSS volunteers to actively participate in social service activities and contribute towards building a cleaner and greener society.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Jayaram Gowda and Mrs. Lidwin Crasta, with NSS student leaders Nishani, Sanvi and David Pais actively involved in organising the activities. Thanvi compered the programme, while Michelle delivered the welcome address and Anisha presented the NSS Day report highlighting the activities and achievements of the NSS unit.
Following the formal programme, NSS volunteers participated in a cleaning activity in and around the college premises. The students cleaned the surroundings, collected waste and created awareness about maintaining a clean and healthy environment. They also took part in activities promoting the protection and preservation of nature.
The activity provided students with a practical understanding of the NSS motto, “Not Me But You,” and highlighted how responsible citizenship can begin with small acts of service.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, NSS coordinators, student leaders, staff members and volunteers for their support and active participation. The celebration served as a meaningful experience that inspired students to serve society and become responsible custodians of nature.
