Mangaluru, July 9: The Department of MBA, A J Institute of Engineering and Technology (AJIET), organized ‘Kesard Onji Dina’, a traditional rural sports event, at Adyapady on July 9, 2026. The programme was conducted to promote the rich cultural heritage of the region while encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and community participation among students.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Ms. Wencita Dias, actor, model, and founder of Wenz Modelling Academy, and Mr. Lakshman Kumar Marakada, Yakshagana artist and founder of Shubhavarna Yaksha Sampada. Campus Director Dr. T. Jayaprakash Rao, Vice Principal Dr. Anthony P. J., and Head of the MBA Department Dr. Prameela S. Shetty were also present.
Members of the Adyapady Temple Management Committee and several prominent personalities from the village participated in the programme, making it a vibrant community event. Students enthusiastically took part in a variety of traditional water-based rural sports and activities, experiencing the spirit of teamwork and celebrating local traditions.
The programme was coordinated by Assistant Professors Mrs. Latha Prakash and Mrs. Krithi Rao.
