Mangalore, 7 April 2025: Nature club – Greenaura, in collaboration with IQAC, organized an invited talk on “Thirsty Planet: Solving Water Shortages” on the occasion of World Water Day. The event featured Dr. Palakshappa K, Professor & Head, Department of Civil Engineering, P.A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Palakshappa’s talk shed light on the pressing issue of global water scarcity, affecting over one-third of humanity annually. He emphasized the need for efficient water management practices, such as drip irrigation systems, to reduce water waste. The discussion also highlighted the role of innovation and technology in addressing water shortages.

The talk concluded with a call to action, stressing the importance of collective efforts to tackle the global water crisis. As the world’s population continues to grow, adopting sustainable water management practices is crucial for ensuring a water-secure future.
