Subramanya: A challenging 24-kilometre trekking programme to Kumara Parvata, rising to an altitude of 5,617 feet and lasting nearly 12.30 hours, was successfully organized with the enthusiastic participation of 24 students from Mangaluru, Sullia, Kadaba, Kodagu, Subrahmanya, and Bengaluru. The trek passed through dense forests, open grasslands, and rugged rocky ridges, testing the physical endurance and mental strength of all participants while offering a rich experience of nature and adventure.
The programme was conducted with the theme “Screen Time to Green Time” under the national ABVP initiative “Screen Time to Activity Time”.
It was organized under the leadership of Muliya Sathwik by the ABVP-supported All College Students Union, with the objective of encouraging students to reduce excessive screen dependence and actively engage in physical fitness, outdoor activities, and mental well-being through meaningful and disciplined participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Muliya Sathwik stated that such initiatives are essential to channel the energy of students in a positive direction. He said that trekking and outdoor activities not only improve physical fitness but also build mental resilience, discipline, and unity among youth.
He further added that ABVP will continue to organize activity-based programmes that encourage students to move beyond screens and actively engage with nature and society.
