Belthangady: Students of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) visited Sri Dharmasthala Siri Gramodyoga Samsthe, located at Renkedaguttu, Belthangady, as part of their field exposure programme.

During the visit, the General Manager of the Samsthe interacted with the students and explained the various manufacturing activities carried out at the industrial unit, including the production of garments, phenyl, liquid soaps, food products, and other consumable items.
He highlighted that the main objective of the organisation is women empowerment through the creation of employment opportunities in rural areas. The Samsthe trains and supports women in self-help groups (SHGs) to produce and market a wide range of quality products under the “SIRI” brand.

The visit helped students gain practical insights into rural entrepreneurship, self-employment, and sustainable development, aligning with the core values of social work education.
