Aranthodu, August 15, 2024 : Nehru Memorial PU College celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The national flag was hoisted on the new flag pole donated by the family of late Bhaskar Rai Peraje at the college stadium by Prabhakar Rai. The program was held at the college auditorium, where Retired Headmaster Purushotama Kirlaya was the chief guest. He inspired the students by highlighting the importance of freedom and the duties of citizens.
The college honored Retired Soldier Hukrappa Gowda Uluvaru and 43 students who passed the 2nd PUC and SSLC annual examination with distinction.The program was presided over by College Convenor KR Gangadhar, and KR Padmanabha, Secretary of the governing body, was present on the stage. Principal-in-charge Suresh Wagle welcomed the gathering, and Headmaster Sitharama MK expressed the vote of thanks.
A cultural program featuring patriotic songs and speeches was presented by the students, compered by Mohanchandra and Kishore Kumar. The teaching and non-teaching staff contributed to the success of the program.The event was attended by retired principal Rama YK, Director of the governing body Abdul A. Vasantha AC, members of the governing body, senior students, and parents.A sweet dinner was served to all, led by teacher Somasekhara.
