Mangalore: The Department of Mental Health Nursing observed World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2025 on the theme “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies “at Eshavasyam College Auditorium. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the theme by Mrs. Divyashree, Asso. Prof. & HOD, Department of Psychiatric Nursing, followed by an insightful session on ” Addressing Tender Mind in Mental Health Emergencies ” by the Principal Prof. Subrahmanya Nayak. This session equipped students with the skills to handle their mind effectively in emergency situations.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed Guests including Prof. Prathijna Suhasini, Dean and Principal MCAHS & PMS. Prof. Subrahmanya Nayak, Principal, NMCON & MSON, Dr. Bharath K.H., Principal MCOP, Prof. Geethalakshmi, Vice Principal, MCAHS & MCPMS, Mrs. Divyashree, Asso. Prof. & HOD, Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Dr. Dharmaraj Admission and Student welfare officer MGEI.
The faculty members and Students from 4th & 6th semester BSc. (N) and 2nd Year GNM actively participated, gaining knowledge and insights on mental health issues. The programme emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and the role of nursing professionals in promoting mental health and mental well-being.
