Mangaluru, March 8: In celebration of International Women’s Day, JCI Mangaluru Samrat, in association with Rotary Mangalore Downtown and Swastika National Business School, successfully organized the HER Summit – Honouring Empowered Resilience at Swastika Waterfront, Sulthan Bathery, Mangaluru.

The event focused on promoting women empowerment, leadership, and career growth, aligning with SDG 5 – Gender Equality. The summit featured a series of engaging activities including outbound team-building activities, a power talk, and an insightful panel discussion for 300 students of Government Hostels of Mangaluru.

The program began with outbound activities that encouraged collaboration, confidence, and bonding among participants.

A highlight of the summit was the Power Talk by RJ Nayana, Radio Jockey at 92.7 Big FM, Mangalore, who inspired the audience with her journey, experiences in media, and powerful message on confidence and self-belief.

The panel discussion titled “NextGen Women: Handling Career” brought together distinguished panelists from diverse fields:

  • Mrs Geetha D Kulkarni, Assistant Commissioner of Police, City Crime Record Bureau, Mangaluru
  • Mrs Komal Prabhu, Managing Director and Head Chef, Maharaja Family Restaurant, Mangaluru
  • Dr KT Shwetha, Founder and Clinical Psychologist, Anirvedha Foundation
  • Dr Nagaveni Manchi, Retired Kannada Professor, P. Satisha Pai Government First Grade College, Mangaluru

The discussion was moderated by JCI Sen. Dr Raghavendra Holla N, Author and National Trainer, JCI India, who guided the conversation on career challenges, opportunities, and balancing professional aspirations.

The event was graced by JFS A Manikandan, National Vice President, Area C, JCI India, as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included JFF Santhosh Shetty, Zone President, Zone 15; Rtn Parinitha Shenoy, Past President, Rotary Mangalore Downtown; Mrs Bindiya Nayak, District Officer, Backward Class Welfare Department, D.K.; Mrs Sumana Polali, Trustee, Swastika Charitable Trust; and JC Dr Harinakshi Karkera, Zone Vice President, Region C, Zone 15. In the presence of esteemed guests, JCI Mangaluru Samrat and Master Plannery Puttur handed over the permanent project of resting benches to Swastika National Business School Campus.

The program was led by JC Preethi Shettigar, President of JCI Mangaluru Samrat, along with JC Dinesh, Secretary, and JC HGF Yatheesha K S, Immediate Past President. Rtn Sathyajith S Rao, President of Rotary Mangalore Downtown, also extended his support to the initiative.

The HER Summit successfully created a platform for dialogue, inspiration, and celebration of women achievers, encouraging young women to pursue their dreams with confidence and resilience.
