Attavara, August 12, 2024 – Prof. P.L. Dharma, Chancellor of Mangalore University, emphasized the crucial role teachers play in shaping society, equating their importance to that of doctors and engineers. Speaking at the district-level academic conference and talent award ceremony, held at Sarojini Madhusudhan Kushe Pre- University College, Prof. Dharma highlighted the need for value-based education and the responsibility of preparing exemplary educators dedicated to societal welfare.
“While education lays the foundation, it is value-based education that truly enhances a student’s life. Our mission is to cultivate the best teachers to ensure the well-being of our society,” Prof. Dharma stated during his inaugural speech.
The event was organized by the District Pre-University College Principals’ Association under the guidance of the Department of School Education (Pre- University), Dakshina Kannada. Mr. C.D. Jayanna, Deputy Director of the School Education Department, presided over the ceremony.
Keynote speakers included Mr. Anand P., Assistant Director (Academic) of the School Education Department, Sumanth Kumar Jain, Chairman of Guruvayanakere Excel Education Institute, and Bindusara Shetty, Principal of Sarojini Madhusudhan Kushe Pre-University College.
The conference also saw the participation of notable individuals such as Mr. Roopsingh, Mr. Yatish Baikampadi, Mr. Bharat, and Mr. Pratim Kumar.
Dakshina Kannada District Pre-University College Principals’ Association President Mr. Jayananda N. welcomed the attendees, while Treasurer Mr. Ratnakara announced the Bannadi awardees. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Raghuraj Kadri and narrated by Secretary Mrs. Anasuya K.P.
