Mangaluru: The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Mangalore University and Besant Women’s College organised a University Level Workshop on Cooperatives as part of the District Level Sahakari Saptha 2025 on 15th November 2025. The programme was conducted in association with Karnataka Rajya Sahakara Mahamandala Niyamitha, Bengaluru, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kendra Sahakari Bank Niyamitha, and Dakshina Kannada Zilla Sahakari Union Niyamitha, Mangaluru.
Resource persons explained the importance of the cooperative sector, its role in economic development, and the various opportunities available for youth in cooperative institutions. Students actively participated and learned about cooperative banks, schemes, and membership procedures.
The workshop helped create awareness among students about the significance of cooperatives and encouraged them to take part in community development activities. The programme concluded successfully with positive participation from NSS volunteers and students.
