Mangaluru, 21 November 2025: Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru, in association with its SDG Programme under SDG 13: Climate Action, successfully organized a Beach Clean-up Drive at Chithrapura Beach on Friday, 21 November 2025.
The programme began at 7:30 AM, where students and volunteers gathered with enthusiasm and commitment to contribute towards environmental conservation. The primary objective of the initiative was to raise awareness about coastal cleanliness, reduce pollution, and encourage responsible waste management practices.
During the clean-up, participants actively collected and removed plastic waste, glass bottles, fishing debris, and other pollutants that pose serious threats to marine life and the coastal ecosystem. Their collective efforts helped restore cleanliness and promote a healthier shoreline.The event was organized by Rithesh K.I (I BSW), Sajani (I BSW), Rakshitha (I B.Com), Pavithral (BSW), and Sunitha (I B.Com). Their planning, coordination, and leadership ensured the smooth and effective execution of the programme.
The Beach Clean-up Drive also emphasized the role of youth in environmental sustainability and encouraged students to take part in meaningful community engagement activities. Participants shared that the experience gave them a sense of responsibility and satisfaction in contributing to a cleaner environment.
