Moodalkatte, October 4, 2024: The IMJ Institute of Science and Commerce, Moodalkatte, held the inauguration of “Aikyam,” its annual sports activities. The chief guest, Ms. Nagashree Sherugar, an Asian powerlifter, inaugurated the sports team logos, stating that sports keep a person active and fill the body with a strong spirit, of which she herself is an example. Ms. Sherugar emphasized that success comes from accepting both victory and defeat equally.
The guest of honor, Mr. Harshavardhan Shetty, Managing Director of Srishti Infotech, Kundapura, unveiled the trophies and highlighted that sports are an excellent medium for developing a competitive spirit while promoting emotional well-being among students. The achievements of the distinguished guests were recognized and honored.
Later, the jerseys and logos of the various teams were handed over to the respective team captains. Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, Director of Brand Building at IMJ Institutions, Moodalkatte, who was present at the event, mentioned that engaging in sports activities enables students to achieve all forms of success through a healthy body. Dr. Prathibha M. Patel, Principal of the institute, delivered a presidential address, wishing the students success in the sporting events.
Following the inauguration, for the first time at the Moodalkatte campus, a “Hulivesha” performance was presented by the renowned Maddugudde Tigers team from Kundapura. The students enthusiastically danced alongside the tiger dancers. Vice-principal Mr. Jayasheela Kumar and Physical Education Director Mr. Praveen Kharvi were also present at the event. The program began with a welcome speech by Tarana Shetty of III BCA, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Mohammad Riyaan of III BCA, and was hosted by Rashitha Shetty of II BCA.
