Ujire, 7th December 2024: SDM Residential PU College, Ujire, celebrated its Annual Day on the evening of 7th December, 2024, with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event, held in the college premises, was attended by esteemed guests, staff, students, and their families. The occasion marked a memorable moment in the academic year, with a series of engaging activities and celebrations.
The event commenced with a prayer by the students, setting the tone for the evening. Mrs. Vani extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and attendees. Mr. Sunil Pandith, the Principal of SDM Residential PU College, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements and milestones of the academic year.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Dr. Raghavendra Holla N., Chairman of Swastika National Business School, Mangaluru. In his inspiring address, Dr. Holla spoke on the theme “SDM creates value-added students.” He emphasized the importance of developing youth by focusing on qualities such as persistence, communication, and goal setting.
He also urged parents not to compare their children to others and reminded them that, like a pencil, students require regular sharpening to excel. Dr. Holla concluded his address with an empowering story about Arunima Sinha, a symbol of resilience and determination.
Dr. Satheeshchandra S., Secretary of SDME Society (R.), Ujire, delivered the Presidential Address. He shared his thoughts on adaptability in today’s fast-paced world, encouraging students to embrace change and continuously evolve to meet future challenges.
The event also saw the distribution of prizes to students who had excelled in various academic and extracurricular activities, highlighting their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Abhjeet Dinesh, President of the Students’ Council, and Shreyas Gowda T. N., Secretary of the Students’ Council, played key roles in ensuring the success of the event.
The highlight of the evening was a variety cultural show put together by the students. The performances showcased the rich talent and creativity of the student body, leaving the audience in awe.
